The Road to Reading Joy book study consists of a combination of synchronous Zoom meetings, asynchronous work (reading and activities), and team discussions to be scheduled in your own time between Zoom meetings. If you complete all the work, you will receive a total of 12 Clock Hours over the course of the 2022/2023 school year. See below for the schedule and an overview of the work:
Wednesday, November 16th -- 4-5 p.m.: Synchronous Zoom Meeting #1
Asynchronous work between meeting 1 and 2:
Meet once with your local team, read chapters 1-3 of The Joy of Reading
Wednesday, January 25th -- 4-5 p.m.: Synchronous Zoom Meeting #2
Asynchronous work between meeting 2 and 3:
Meet once with your local team, read chapters 4-5 of The joy of Reading
Wednesday, February 22nd -- 4-5 p.m.: Synchronous Zoom Meeting #3
Asynchronous work between meetings 2 and 3:
Small assignment TBD
Wednesday, March 22nd -- 4-6 p.m.: Synchronous Zoom Meeting #4 with guest speaker Donalyn Miller
Asynchronous work between meeting 4 and Office Hours Work Parties: Meet once with your local team and start working on action plans/grant applications
Office Hours Work Party (Multiple dates in April, attend one): Date/Times TBD
Asynchronous work between Office Hours Work Party and Final Synchronous Zoom Meeting: Meet with your local team and be ready to share out about your final implementation plans/grant applications
Wednesday, May 24th -- 4-5 p.m.: Final Synchronous Zoom Meeting
