Online Resources

Accessible Nature Washington"Washington has a lot of trails with minimal obstacles. Some are very easy and others are wheelchair accessible. Here are just a few of them."

Soul River Inc."We are a nonprofit 501 c3 focusing on bringing veterans as mentors and inner city youth together into the wild rivers of nature. We inspire the youth by becoming guardians, teachers and role models as an act of service. The hope is that this encourages youth participants to grow and become ambassadors of our natural environment."

Unlikely Hikers"Unlikely Hikers is a diverse, anti-racist, body-liberating outdoor community featuring the underrepresented outdoorsperson. We’re an Instagram community, a nationwide hiking group and a podcast! The outdoor industry and media has, for too long, displayed a very narrow definition of who is “outdoorsy” that isn’t representative of most of us. We are people of size, Black, Indigenous, People of Color, queer, trans and non-binary. We are people with disabilities and people who utilize the outdoors to aid our mental health. We talk about access, politics and conservation while we honor the land and its Indigenous stewards. We don’t conflate these experiences, we explore and build community at their intersections. We all have a story! If you see yourself as an Unlikely Hiker, then you are. Welcome!"

Outdoor Afro
"Outdoor Afro has become the nation’s leading, cutting edge network that celebrates and inspires Black connections and leadership in nature. We are a national not for profit organization with leadership networks around the country. With more than 100 leaders in 56 cities around the country, we connect thousands of people to nature experiences, who are changing the face of conservation. So come out in nature with us, or be a partner to help us grow our work so that we can help lead the way for inclusion in outdoor recreation, nature, and conservation for all!"

Washington Department of Fish and Wildlife Life Outdoors"The outdoors fits into everyone’s life in unique and personal ways, and we here at WDFW want to foster connections with and appreciation of nature, the wide variety of Washington landscapes, and all forms of outdoor recreation through the Life Outdoors resources..."

Washington Department of Natural Resources Recreation"Discover some of the most beautiful recreation destinations in the state. Commissioner of Public Lands Hilary Franz leads DNR in managing diverse recreation across 3.3 million acres of state trust lands – that includes everything from hiking, mountain biking, and horseback riding to paragliding, rock climbing, and off-road vehicle riding."

Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission: "The Washington State Parks and Recreation Commission cares for Washington's most treasured lands, waters, and historic places. State parks connect all Washingtonians to their diverse natural and cultural heritage and provide memorable recreational and educational experiences that enhance their lives."
