Supported by funding provided by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services through the Library Services and Technology Act, administered by the Washington State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
The Washington State Library (WSL) will host a Tribal Library Summit on April 10, 2025 from 9am to 4pm at the University of Washington Tacoma Library. This event will bring together Tribal library staff for a day of connection, collaboration, and learning.
WSL will provide travel expenses for Tribal library staff to attend the Summit. For those who want to stay in Tacoma after the Summit to also attend the Washington Library Association conference April 11-12, WSL will support travel expenses and registration. WSL will arrange and pay for lodging and conference registrations, and will reimburse other allowable travel expenses.
Attendees must be affiliated with a Tribal library or library-related entity like a Tribal archive, museum, or cultural center. Attendees must be employed or volunteer for a minimum of 10 hours per week for the library. Attendees who live and work more than 50 miles from the venue (UW Tacoma Library, 1900 Commerce St., Tacoma, WA 98402) are eligible for lodging.
The following costs will be covered by WSL.
The following expenses can be reimbursed in accordance with state travel rules. Payments must go to the Tribal library or Tribal government; individuals cannot be paid under this grant.
Attendees must attend the full Tribal Library Summit in order to qualify for reimbursement. Attendees will participate in summit activities and complete an evaluation survey.
