Washington State Library Circulating STEAM Kits
Supported by funding provided by the federal Institute of Museum and Library Services administered by the Library Services and Technology Act, through the Washington State Library, a division of the Office of the Secretary of State.
The BBC micro:bit kit is a microcontroller with LEDs and attachments that can be programmed to display messages and create mini robots. Students can write programs using block code, learn Javascript, and follow tutorials for Python. You will need to use classroom laptops or computers with USB ports to code the microcontroller online and download the programs. Your classroom doesn't have to wait to get the kit to use microbits. Teachers always have access to a virtual microcontroller that students can program online through https://makecode.microbit.org/.
Laptops/Computers are not included in this kit.
