Pass a Practice Test & Show Us!

  • Show your contact (library staff, instructor, program staff) you have passed a practice test in testing mode.

  • You will be given an exam voucher code and be referred to Get Certified America (GCA).  Staff will give them your name, email and phone number. 
  • GCA will email you within 48 hours to schedule your exam. *NOTES- if taking an MOS or MCF exam, you do not need a voucher. You will be sent to test and Get Certified America has your exams ready.

  • CREATE A CERTIPORT ACCOUNT
    • You will create a free Account in Certiport in order to take your exam.  If you have issues with this, please contact Certiport Directly at 1-8888-999-9830.

  • GCA PROCEDURES
    • GCA will email you within 48 hours with a link to schedule your exam.

    • Schedule your exam at the time of your choosing, and provide your voucher code if you have one. (If you are taking a Microsoft Exam, you will not need a voucher code.)

    • GCA sends you a prep email with instructions, tips, and best practices prior to test day.

    • GCA sends you the proctoring zoom link 25 minutes before the test session.

    • GCA proactively contacts you if there are any technical issues occurring.

    • You can email scheduling@getcertifiedamerica.com or reschedule from the original appointment portal sent to you.
    • After the exam, GCA proctors will email you instructions on accessing your score report and certification.

    • No Pass, No Problem! If you don't pass, it's ok. GCA will refer you back to the library, and we will send you back to schedule whenever you're ready.  

    • If you don't see your scheduling email from GCA:

      • Check your Spam/Junk folder.

        • The scheduling email subject is “Your First and Last Name - Washington State Library Certiport Exam - Schedule Now!.”

      • Contact the library: If you have a secondary email, please ask the library to send the form again using the secondary email.

 

  • HOURS:
    • GCA offers proctoring services Monday-Saturday (Limited Saturday availability June-August)

      • Monday: 8am-7pm pst

      • Tuesday: 8am -7pm pst

      • Wednesday: 8am-7pm pst

      • Thursday: 8am-7pm pst

      • Friday: 8am-3pm

      • Saturday: 8am-1pm (Saturday testing suspended June-August)

 

  • LANGUAGES:
    • GCA proctors can proctor exams in any language.
      • You can take the exam in any of the languages for which it is offered.

 

  • EXAM DELIVERY:
    • GCA's scheduling coordinator emails you to schedule your exam.

    • Exams are proctored remotely using Certiport Exams From Home Testing System.
      • Certiport owns the virtual computers and is not owned by GCA.

      • GCA requests that patrons prepare to test in a quiet area with a stable internet connection.

      • A camera is required for the Zoom check-in: a webcam or Smartphone camera.

      • A computer capable of running Exams from Home is also required. The patron can use a PC Laptop or Desktop, a Macbook or Mac Desktop, or a ChromeBook. No other devices, including smartphones, tablets, or Linux computers, can be used.

      • Testers must be seated at a flat-surfaced table or desk, such as a kitchen table or clean desk.

      • Testers are not permitted to test from a bed unless medically required.

      • Testers are not permitted to test while inside a motor vehicle.

      • The computer must be plugged into a charger for the entire exam duration.

      • You are not required to have Microsoft Office, Adobe, or Autodesk software installed to take that exam type. All software required for the exam is installed on the virtual test computer.

  • TECHNICAL REQUIREMENTS:
    • Laptop or Desktop with Windows 10, Windows 11, or Mac OS X Monterey 12.x or higher

    • Chromebook with a current operating system (OS)

    • The language of the OS on your computer must match the exam language you are scheduled to take

    • Full keyboard and a 2-button mouse

    • Recommended minimum screen resolution of 1280 x 800

    • The preferred internet browsers are Chrome, Edge, and Safari.You will need the ability to download and execute a program file from your browser (see the user guide for info on managed Chromebook devices)

    • Webcam (to check your Photo ID). You can use any valid government-issued ID, school ID, work badge, etc.

    • A bandwidth download speed of at least 10Mbps*

  • ACCOMMODATIONS: 
    • GCA will provide the candidate the link to apply for any needed accommodation: https://certiport.pearsonvue.com/Educator-resources/Exam-policies/Administration. Certiport does not publicly share the complete list of requests that can be approved. It is on a case-by-case basis. Candidates may be approved for medical, physical, and emotional disabilities. They can also be approved if English is a second language and the selected exam is unavailable in their first language.

    • The accommodation process is between Certiport and the patron only. The approval process takes 6-10 business days. The approval documents will be emailed directly to the patron. The document will contain the expiration date of the accommodation and the length of the time extension. Most candidates are approved for 100% additional time.

    • Once the paperwork is submitted, the patron must contact Certiport at 1-888-999-9830 for status checks.

    • Accommodations are applied to the patron Certiport username and cannot be transferred to a new Certiport username without the assistance of Certiport. If a patron applies for an accommodation and creates a new Certiport username, the accommodation will not apply to the new Certiport account.

    • GCA staff will not discuss the patron's needs directly with them for privacy purposes.

 

  • TECHNICAL SUPPORT & BACKUP:

    • GCA's IT team will proactively contact scheduled testers when there is an outage or technical issue.  
    • GCA proctors will handle all scheduling and rescheduling.​​​​​​​
