5/16/25 UPDATE:  Free proctoring services paused on May 1st, 2025 & will resume in the Fall of 2025. 

 

  • Due to funding concerns at the state and federal level, Washington state library is retooling this program to be accessible to Washington residents in the future. 
  • From June-August 2025, WSL is scheduled to build a new website allowing library card holders around the state to request and receive GMetrix codes on-demand, 24/7.
  • Some certifications will pause over the summer and return in the fall.  Others are being discontinued until the funding situation changes.
  • If you have been issued GMetrix codes for courses and practice tests, please take note of the expiration dates below.

1. Get your local or State library card

  • If you live in Washington but are unable to get a library card at your local public library, you can get an eCard from the State Library to use these and other State Library online resources.
2. Learn new skills with LinkedIn Learning, GMetrix courses & practice tests, Cisco Networking Academy, or Microsoft LEARN . Person learning on a PC
3. Pass a practice test at 80% or higher

5. Receive your free exam voucher code and you'll be referred to Get Certified America, WSL's proctoring service, to schedule your free exam. *CompTIA exams are proctored directly through CompTIA.
