Get self-paced GMetrix courses, practice tests, & request exam vouchers & free proctoring on-demand, 24/7 with your state or local library card in 3 easy steps:

 

Step 1:

Use the portal to browse courses.  When you find a course or practice test you want to take, request a code.

  • The code will be emailed to you by certify@sos.wa.gov. (check spam)

 

Step 2:

Redeem the code at GMetrix.net to take your free course or practice test. (instructions available here)

  • Each code is good for a set number of courses or practice tests.
  • You may request 1 code every 24 hours.
  • There is no limit on how many classes or practice tests you can take.
  • Prepare until you have passed a practice test at 80% or higher.

 

Step 3:

Use the portal to share your passing practice test and request your free exam (instructions below).

If you do not see your library on the list, you can request a virtual e-card with the state library.  please email us at Certify@sos.wa.gov to request your library be connected.

Login, Dashboard & Browse Courses

Select your library from the drop-down menu, and type in your library card number and PIN to login.  You may also go straight to browsing courses, or click Need Assistance for the FAQs page.

The dashboard shows your library name, and has buttons to browse courses, view past requests, or request your free exam.

You can view past requests if you’ve lost your code.

When browsing courses, notice which courses are available from the GMetrix learning platform, and which are listed as general courses.

General courses do not require you to get a course code.  Scroll down to Additional Resources to get links to free courses through Cisco Net Academy, LinkedIn Learning, and Microsoft LEARN.

Request Course & Practice Test Codes

To request a code that you can redeem for a self-paced course or practice test, select the course family from the left hand menu, and click the button on the right to request either a course code or a practice test code.

  • One code is good for any one of the courses or practice tests in that exam family.
  • You can request a new code every 24 hours.
  • There is no limit on how many courses and practice tests you can take.

Enter your email address and click Send Code

You will get a confirmation window, and the email will be delivered in minutes from certify@sos.wa.gov. (Check Spam folder)

If you already have an active code for that exam family, you will get a reminder.  But you can take as many courses as you like, just click Yes, I want to send a new request.

The email you receive will have your course code, and direct you to redeem it at GMetrix.net.  Full instructions with screenshots here.

Request Your Free Exam & Proctoring

When you have passed a practice test at 80% or higher, log into the portal to request your free exam.

Fill out the form, upload a screenshot of your passing practice test, and select your exam from the drop-down menu.  Click the Submit button.

Your request will be acknowledged, and you will receive a confirmation email from certify@sos.wa.gov

Library staff will review your request and you will receive an email with next steps to schedule your exam within 3-5 business days!
